8:30 am – THE THREATS TO THE ADVERTISING TAX DEDUCTION
Several notable provisions in Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) are set to expire at the end of 2025. If the expiring tax provisions are to be extended, as President Trump and the Republicans want, new sources of revenue must be sought so as to not increase the deficit. With the CBO recently putting a sizable price tag on the federal advertising tax deduction, will the end of the deduction the industry has enjoyed since the inception of the tax code be on the table? Will it be across-the-board removal or targeted at specific industries? This panel will look at where things stand in light of ongoing 2025 tax reform negotiations on Capitol Hill.

10:30 am – A NEW DAY ON PRIVACY AND BIG TECH IN DC
With a unified Congress and White House, will 2025 finally be the year for a comprehensive national privacy law? What would such a bill look like? In the meantime, Congress may be moving bills soon relating to children’s privacy. Couple this with the Trump administration’s new relationship with tech platform owners, as well as ongoing legislative activity in the states on privacy, and we may be looking at a different privacy regime in the U.S. at this time next year.? Get actionable insights from our panelists on how organizations should be preparing if they want to leverage data to reach American consumers.

11:15 am – A FOCUS ON LITIGATION
The courts are increasingly the next frontier in advertising and marketing regulation. From the Biden-era FTC chair’s aggressive enforcement actions to ongoing privacy litigation (especially around HIPAA, California’s CIPA, and cookies and pixels), the industry faces a number of challenges in U.S. courts that could have implications on how we conduct business.
