Jeff Hanby

As Co-Owner of LookFar Labs, I oversee all Software Engineering efforts of the organization. I started out as a developer almost 20 years ago, and I learned new languages/technologies quickly, because my job required me to do so. I was always drawn to the business side of the products though. Helping businesses solve meaningful problems through software is something I deeply enjoy.

After about 10 years of moving up as a developer, I began managing other developers. I believe in empowering software engineers to push through problems and dig into resources independently, but also know when to ask for help. We have a friendly, ask anything environment within our team, and we certainly don’t believe in making people work hard for the sake of working hard.

In 2018, I became a co-owner of LookFar Labs, and it’s been a wild ride: COVID, recessions, Hurricane Ida, and lots of lessons learned about running a software services business. I still get to do what I love every day, which is a gift. I work on projects but mostly from an engagement lead standpoint. Technology is at an exciting juncture, and I look forward to leading LookFar Labs through these changing tides.
