Based on a 30+ year career in the business and a year-long research study in graduate school at Northwestern, where John McGonigle studied the role conflict plays in creative output. John shares key observations and six moments in the creative development process that are essential to making great work.
John shares evidence-based information, using numerous studies on the nature of teamwork, culture, communication, and innovation, and interviews with creative leaders at the best creative agencies in North America.

John McGonigle

John spent 30 years in account management at some of the finest agencies in the US, including 72andSunny, which he helped launch, DeutschLA, Publicis, and TBWA Chiat/Day. During his career, he worked closely with executives at Fortune 500 companies like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, PlayStation, Netflix, Target, Samsung, and X-Box. John is recognized for his ability to understand business challenges and craft creative business solutions, all with a track record of driving topline growth.

In 2021, John left the ad world as an Executive Vice President to become an executive coach, earning his executive coaching credential at Northwestern University. A lifelong learner, John earned a Master of Science degree in Learning and Organization Change at Northwestern University with a Graduate Certificate in Leading Equity and Inclusion in Organizations.

To improve his ability to impact clients, he holds a Certificate in Emotional Intelligence from the University of Michigan and a Certificate in Conflict Type and Resolution from the University of California – Irvine.
