Marc Brownstein
President & CEO
Marc has had a love affair with advertising since his first client meeting at the age of three. After graduating from Penn State University, he spent time as a writer at both Doremus/BBDO and Ogilvy & Mather – creating award-winning work for AT&T, American Express, Sports Illustrated, Hershey Foods, Hallmark and Campbell Soup Company.

In 1989, Marc joined Brownstein as Executive Creative Director and later, President & CEO. He is also the interim director of Drexel University's Center for Corporate Reputation Management and serves on the board of directors of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, the Young Presidents' Organization, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, YMCA of Greater Philadelphia, Mural Arts Program of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Film Festival and the Alumni Board of Advisors for Penn State University's College of Communications. He speaks regularly before industry groups and is a blogger for Advertising Age magazine.

Berny Brownstein
Chairman, Chief Creative Officer
Making great work – that’s what Berny had in mind when he started Brownstein Group in 1964. And it’s what he still expects of everyone who follows in his footsteps.

As a native Philadelphian, Berny graduated from the University of the Arts with a dream of illustration. But after working on national campaigns at a global ad agency he saw that fun, clever advertising could showcase clients in a whole new light. He got the bug, and the rest is advertising history.

These days, when he’s not exhibiting his watercolors and oil paintings, he’s mentoring a new generation of smart, creative people to share in his passion. Fifty years later, he still believes that great advertising has the power to both move and inspire.

Erin Allsman
Managing Director
Erin Allsman is Brownstein Group’s first-ever Managing Director, overseeing the agency’s public relations, social media, branding and digital practices while also leading the agency’s long-term growth and specialization strategies.
Allsman spent the last decade as BG’s head of Public Relations and Social Media, growing the department by 400 percent, launching the social media and content marketing practices and leading the agency to its first national PR and social media awards.

She has worked on dozens of notable clients, including IKEA, GORE-TEX®, Saint-Gobain, Independence Blue Cross, Campus Apartments and the Philadelphia Auto Show, along with several architectural firms. She has been featured in PRWeek and PR News and as a speaker at the PRSA International Conference, PR News’ Digital PR Conference, among others.

Earlier in her career Erin held PR positions in the interactive marketing, sports apparel, financial services and construction industries. Erin holds a BA in English from Dickinson College, an MA in Communication from the University of Delaware, and is formally accredited in the public relations field.

Laura Emanuel
Director of Public Relations
Laura Emanuel is Director of Public Relations at Brownstein Group where her responsibilities include department management, strategic planning for both the agency and clients, resource planning and staff development and new business. In her nine years at BG, she has worked for dozens of notable clients, including Saint-Gobain, CertainTeed, SageGlass, PREIT, Campus Apartments, Cecil Baker + Partners, Design Philadelphia and more. As a result, she is engrained in the architecture, design, real estate and construction industries and has strong relationships with national and regional media in these industries. Laura is also highly experienced in reputation management and crisis communications, frequently serving as the corporate spokesperson for her clients and providing messaging counsel to stakeholders.

Prior to becoming Director, Laura established the AEC practice group within the agency’s Public Relations department which supports brand communication efforts for a variety of clients in the areas of architecture, interior design, construction management, real estate development, building materials, home goods and energy efficiency. The practice group establishes and builds brands, creates collateral materials, raises profiles in the media and otherwise connects companies to their constituents and supports business development objectives.

Laura has a proven media relations track record and maintains strong relationships with regional and national media. She has secured clients in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes, USA Today, The Washington Post, Men’s Health, Investor’s Business Daily and CNBC, to name a few. She graduated summa cum laude from Cabrini College, earning a BA in English and communications. In 2012, Laura earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), the industry’s only post-graduate certification program. Laura has helped win over 30 Philadelphia PRSA Chapter awards and three national PR awards, including a PRSA Silver Anvil, PR Daily’s 2012 Media Relations Awards for “best response to breaking news” and PR News’ 2013 CSR Award for work on Saint-Gobain’s national community relations program with YouthBuild USA.

Terry Dukes
Director of Client Services
Terry Dukes is passionate about two things: family and advertising – in that order. Looks like we were made for each other.

An industry veteran, Terry spent nearly 15 years leading brand teams at Young & Rubicam on clients such as KFC, DuPont, The Vanguard Group, and the US Army. She served a further 8 on the Executive Committee at Havas Worldwide, and led their global teams for ExxonMobil and Charles Schwab.

Midway through her advertising career, Terry took a scenic detour into media where she served as Publisher for a group of community newspapers, magazines, and websites on the even more scenic West Coast of Florida.

Her recent move to Philadelphia brings her closer to her family (Five children! Six siblings! Just the one husband…). It also makes her the newest member of our own.

Anne Ryan
Director of Brand Strategy
At the center of Anne’s core is insatiable curiosity and a sharp business acumen. As the Director of Brand Strategy, this combination serves clients well as she works tirelessly to unearth the insights and strategies that will allow our clients’ brands to redefine categories, bond with their audiences, and, ultimately, increase sales. With over twelve years of experience in developing strategies for brands like IKEA, UnitedHealthcare, DuPont, and Comcast, Anne inspires her team to push their strategic rigor, go deep, and only emerge when they believe they’ve landed on a truly transformative insight.

While Anne loves any good brand challenge, she’s especially taken by Talent Branding. You can find her speaking around the country to rooms full of HR and Marketing professionals about using their master brand to attract the best talent…and keep it! And if you really want to get her going, ask her about The Greatest Generation – Seniors. The first generation to feel truly invincible and defy the aging process is an agency specialty and a category near and dear to her heart.

Prior to joining Brownstein, Anne served as the Director of Strategy and Analysis for a digital marketing agency that focused on connecting B2B brands. She also spent the first half of her career implementing customer acquisition programs for financial services institutions, including Citibank and Capital One.

Gary Greenberg
Executive Creative Director
RN’R memorabilia blogger. Bagel junkie. Keith Richards wannabe. Hack drummer. Gary Greenberg may already be a lot of things but he can now add Brownstein Group Executive Creative Director to that list.

Former EVP/CCO of Allen & Gerritsen, Greenberg managed creative departments in both Boston and Philly from 2002-2015, working with clients such as Sunoco, The Boston Celtics, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, City Year, Staples, LA Zoo, Zildjian Cymbals, Converse and Aerosmith Guitar Hero. In 2015, he moved on to become the Director of Creative at Primal I A&G, the agency’s advisory arm, which offers high level strategic and creative consulting to B2B companies.

Prior to A&G, Greenberg founded and ran his own agency, Greenberg, Seronick, O'Leary and Partners. For 19 years the agency serviced clients such as Dunkin’ Donuts, Hasbro and Ben Hogan Golf before being sold to A&G in 2002.

Megan Hegerty
Digital Services Director
Digital Services Director Megan Hegarty has more than 15 years of experience in the digital world, running the gamut from web production and online marketing to project management and client services.

Formerly Brownstein Group’s Digital Production Supervisor, Hegerty spent the last year overseeing day-to-day operations of the web development department, ensuring a smooth process for for clients such as SageGlass, Beneficial Bank, IKEA USA and Western Union to name a few.
