Pete Barr, Jr.

A legendary agency with a rich history, &Barr is known by the family name that’s been there since it’s conception. Behind that family name is a passionate leader with a unique approach to an ever-changing business. Pete Barr Jr. embodies all that &Barr is: intense determination, unbridled compassion and multi-faceted expertise. This isn’t a job for Pete—it’s a treasured family legacy.

As our beloved President and CEO, Pete brings a contagious, fervent spirit to everything we do. From business development to client service, Pete pushes every element of the project to reach new heights. His innate hunger for excellence fuels all aspects of the agency—people, process, product and profit.

Leading the 67-year-old agency since 2001, Pete joined &Barr in 1987 with valuable experience at the Orlando Sentinel being the backbone of his energetic approach. Transitioning to CEO, following in the footsteps of his father, Pete Barr Sr., gave him the opportunity—and challenge—of a lifetime. As a proud second-generation leader, Pete navigated the waters of what proved to be a turbulent era of the great recession, the digital transformation and, now, a global pandemic. But like every successful leader, Pete embraces change and runs with it. An avid marathoner, he’s kept pace with the evolution of an industry wildly affected by changing times and media platforms. Under his guidance, a mid-century agency was able to not only survive the new digital era but continue to exceed in traditional advertising while adapting to digital and social platforms with ease.

The one constant through every year and every change has always been Pete’s dedication to the people. The people who work for him and the clients we partner with. But what’s truly incredible about Pete is his faith. In his employees, in our collective abilities and in our commitment to doing truly good things for truly good clients. While that may seem a small thing to some, it’s anything but for Florida’s oldest agency and one of the oldest independent agencies in the country.

If you ask Pete, and he’ll tell you his favorite lifetime achievements are his son, growing roster of cherished grandchildren and 35-year marriage to his wife, Sheryl. Because in true &Barr philosophy, the thing that matters most is family.

Douglas White
Chief Operating Officer
All things innovation start with Doug. Ambition to adapt, vision to grow and confidence in being the agency of choice are all driving forces in &Barr culture that are spearheaded by Doug. As &Barr’s Chief Operating Officer, his responsibilities may require him to be a visionary leader—but what they don’t require is his contagious optimism and positivity.

Doug is a proud graduate of Florida State University where he founded the FSView Newspaper while earning degrees in Economics and Business Administration. A driven leader with over 20 years of experience, Doug’s impressive skillset boasts crafting integrated marketing campaigns, sales and technology strategy from both the agency and the brand side. He’s been responsible for securing successful partnerships with top Fortune 500 companies including AOL, Coke, Disney, FOX Television and General Motors, all resulting in incredible ROI and notable industry awards including the Internet Marketing Associations (IMA), Top 10 Agency of The Year and BtoB Magazine’s Top 100 US Advertising Agencies.

At &Barr, he passionately owns new business efforts with equal parts acumen and scrappiness. Doug leads innovation and growth by developing long-term relationships with leading brands to deliver strategies that empower the development of more meaningful and profitable customer relationships via integrated marketing campaigns. Through his ability to think creatively, Doug creates strategies beyond business development. He works in tandem with other departments, bringing a new perspective and business mindset to a variety of marketing problems. With an unapologetic sense of curiosity, Doug sees opportunity for growth everywhere, always scoping for new client initiatives and new services offerings.

Christian Wojciechowski
VP, Creative Director
There’s nothing you can throw at Christian Wojciechowski that he won’t be able to solve, actualize or create. A true pioneer in his field with over 30 years of creative excellence, Christian fearlessly leads our Creative team as &Barr’s Vice President/Creative Director. His storied journey as a renowned Creative Director has cultivated partnerships and connections all over the world, all thanks to his humble beginnings as a 5-year-old rock salesman.

His illustrious career has generated countless awards, groundbreaking campaigns and visionary creative work. He was one of the founding members of Pyro at The Richards Group, won Global Agency of the Year at Tribal DDB, and Agency of the Year with The Martin Agency. His work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Graphis, NY Art Director’s Club, the W+K Global Book, One Show Interactive, and has earned not one but two People’s Choice awards for packaging and logo design in the gaming category.

An innovator to his core, Christian won’t rest until a project is seamlessly perfect. But if you asked him, no piece of creative is ever perfect and no project or conversation is ever finished. Inherently passionate about pushing the limits of creative, he teaches his team to never be satisfied with the expected and to always think beyond the status quo. He manages his team with the same passionate, yet compassionate, approach he has to creative projects, imparting technical guidance and an attentive level of care. Backed by robust industry wisdom and his own unique approach, Christian can and will find the answer to any brand positioning formula. The influence of curiosity is an element in every brief he writes, with the belief that if we can capture an audience at their most curious moments, we can truly harness the power of emotion. Kim Blaylock
VP Account Service
Exceptionalism in Client Service is synonymous with Kim Blaylock. During her impressive 25-year career, her passion for serving clients and ability to lead is unmatched. Here, she oversees a team of advertising professionals, guiding them in providing exemplary client service. Under her leadership, the Account Service team builds clients’ business and brands through effective marketing strategy and integrated campaigns.

Starting out in the ad business at Cramer-Krasselt’s Orlando office, Kim supervised multi-million-dollar accounts including Visit Orlando, AirTran Airways, PGA National Resort & Spa and Orlando Science Center. She subsequently worked in shopper marketing with Integrated Marketing Services on the Sam’s Club Tastes & Tips program and was a partner at JK Marketing working with client’s like Monster Cable and Dual Electronics.

At &Barr, she’s credited with building the Account Service team from the ground up—proudly serving clients like Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Sonny’s BBQ, Florida Virtual School, Florida’s Space Coast and Badcock Home Furniture &more. But it’s her unique way of using her natural empathy as both a leader and a strategic Account person that makes her a priceless asset to the &Barr team.

A proud Kentucky-native, Kim relaxes by spending time with her son, Ben, and her dogs, reading and traveling.

Dennis Nikles
VP Media & Analytics
Dennis is a Master of Media who is able to make a $500,000 media buy work like a million bucks and change.

As &Barr’s Vice President of Media & Analytics, Dennis has to do a lot, know a lot and keep a lot on the move for our clients, especially when challenged by emerging media channels that are competing for eyeballs and budgets.

As negotiator-in-chief, he’s the one leveraging the spend and generally making clients darn glad he’s around to make sense of it all. Proactive, analytical and genuinely enthusiastic, Dennis lays out plans with crystal-clear logic and confidence, knowing &Barr’s media partners will not only back him up, but also routinely exceed expectations. That’s why, when value-added opportunities arise, Dennis isn’t just on their radar – he’s on speed dial. Good thing he’s always ready to take the call and get things done for our clients.

Erin Pagán
VP, Public Relations
Erin Pagán’s 25+ year career in public relations has included leading public relations services for agencies, public and private companies, and nonprofits. In her most recent position prior to joining &Barr, Erin developed, grew, and led a global corporate communications department for a public, multi-billion-dollar company, where her global team managed all facets of public relations, including internal and external communications, CSO, issues/crises, as well as investor relations support.

As &Barr’s Vice President of Public Relations, Erin leads a strong team dedicated to providing strategic, fully integrated communications plans for &Barr’s ever-growing client list featuring nationally and internationally recognized brands.

Erin’s previous experience includes tenure with SteinMart, The Home Depot, and Hilton – just to name a few – providing public relations services to a diverse array of industries from Aviation, Entertainment, and Hospitality to Retail, Real Estate, and Travel/Tourism.

Janette Estep
VP Controller
Every great agency is made possible by the team behind the scenes that keeps the lights on and the engines running. Here at &Barr, the fearless leader of that team is Janette. Since 1982, she’s been a part of our Accounting, Administration and Production departments—today leading them with a calm professionalism that’s appreciated by all who’ve had the privilege to work with her.

Her innate business savvy and compassionate take on human resources create a double-edged sword that’s benefited the agency for nearly 39 years. Janette’s service on the leadership team for the past 20 years has been a pivotal force in maintaining a future-proof mentality. Janette personifies our core values and her dedication and loyalty are clear testaments to her love of the agency and the team members that make her smile every day.

When she’s not making holes in one at the office, she’s doing it on the golf course with her husband of 34 years. After, find her spending time with her children and family around the pool watching football or battling it out during poker night—where her business savvy surely gives her quite the advantage.
