Overview
Company Summary
The Gate Worldwide is a full service agency with offices in New York, London, Edinburgh and Shanghai. We are part of MSQ Partners based in the UK, a privately held holding company comprised of twelve joined-up agencies. Our philosophy can be summed up in four simple words. Bigger Leap. Fewer Steps. There are two types of people in the world: simplifiers and complicators. Those who get to the point quickly and those who… get…to… it… slowly. We’ve always identified with the simplifiers. Because when you find the answer in fewer steps, you save time, money and frustration. Our experienced leadership team is hands-on. We’ve been doing this a long time, so we know how to build successful go-to-market programs, communications platforms and channel plans. Which means we can take bigger leaps with fewer steps. So, when clients find The Gate, they walk through walls. Metaphorically speaking, anyway.

David Bernstein
Chief Creative Officer
Like most people in advertising, David originally dreamed of joining the circus. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t have him. So he turned his attentions to the only other industry whose members regularly jump through hoops: Advertising.
Today, David is the Chief Creative Officer of The Gate Worldwide/New York. In addition to running the office’s creative department, he sits on both the U.S. and International Board of Directors.
Over the years, his ads for BMW, UPS, BellSouth and the New York Mets made regular appearances at the One Show, Clio and Art Directors Club Awards. One of his Hallmark commercials is also in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.

Eric Van den Heuvel
Managing Director, The Gate Media Group
Eric’s passion for all things media began when he accurately predicted the rise of the iPod, blogs, product placement and cell phone advertising to his fellow kindergarteners.
For over 20 years, he’s gotten the kind of measurable results that have wowed big-ticket advertisers like American Express, Godiva and Putnam Investors.
He joined The Gate Worldwide from Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners, where he started one of the first full-service interactive media groups in the advertising business. Among his more visible successes was the launch of About.com, which closely integrated Internet impressions with traditional media—a novel program prior to 1998.
Eric lives in Connecticut with his two boys.
