Shreya Mukherjee Returns to Deutsch as SVP, Group Planning Director

9.18.17. New York, NY — Most recently overseeing global branding and sponsorship for Citigroup at Publicis New York, Shreya Mukherjee has “boomeranged” back to Deutsch. She has rejoined the New York office as SVP, Group Planning Director, to lead strategy on clients including PNC Bank and will assist in new business initiatives.

“Shreya is an exceptional strategist; she brings an amazing global perspective and a love of deep thinking to unpack insights and consumer trends, and understands that delivering a killer strategy is at the heart of driving stronger, brand building creative work,” said Val DiFebo, CEO of Deutsch New York. “We’re incredibly excited to welcome her back.”

“High-performance strategy has always been core to the agency’s DNA. We have a fantastic strategy team that continues to grow and bring fresh energy and solid ideas to the table. I’m honored and thrilled to be part of that growth story,” noted Mukherjee.

Prior to her time at Publicis, Mukherjee was VP, Planning Director, at Deutsch, leading strategy on multiple PNC brand units. Earlier she honed her career by being a “future trend forecaster” of sorts, as Sr. Director, Global Consumer Strategist, helping build the global division of Iconoculture (the global consumer trends company, now part of Gartner), working at Now What, where she was involved with a variety of strategy and innovation projects for brands such as Pfizer and Hershey’s. She also spent time at Hall & Partners designing and conducting qualitative research.

Early on, Mukherjee was based in Mumbai and New Delhi, India, where she worked on a number of marketing and sales programs for Times Group (Bennett Coleman and Co.), and as Marketing Manager at Sony Music Entertainment managing promotions and new artist releases like Beyoncé and John Mayer for the Indian subcontinent.

A bit of an academic geek, Mukherjee has two graduate degrees from Warwick University (UK) and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Outside of her work, Mukherjee founded The Little Warrior initiative, which helps address the consequences of child sexual abuse through education and counseling.
