Google Creative Lab Alum and VendorDB Co-Founder Dan Murphy Joins Deutsch as SVP, Director of Digital Operations and Production

June 6, 2017– Deutsch announced today that Dan Murphy has joined their New York office as SVP, Director of Digital Operations and Production, reporting to Joe Calabrese, EVP, Director of Integrated Production. Joining from Google Creative Lab, where he was Executive Producer, Dan will oversee production of digital projects across all clients including Busch, J&J’s ACUVUE, and PNC Bank. Additionally, he will assist in new business efforts and grow digital production capabilities.

Deutsch North America’s Chief Digital Officer, Winston Binch, noted, “Landing talent like Dan will be a game changer for the New York office. He makes impossible possible, and on top of that, is great to hang with.”

“We’re excited to welcome him. Dan’s creative mind, doer-mentality, and entrepreneurial spirit make him a great fit for Deutsch,” said Calabrese. His first day will be Wednesday, June 7.

While at Google Creative Lab, Dan worked on Android’s “Be Together. Not the Same” campaign launch and the Androidify app, as well as Google Trend’s FrightGeist–the latter won a Webby Award for Best Visual Design. He is the co-founder of VendorDB, a comprehensive resource database whose mission is to pair creative companies with great partners.

“Deutsch is a perfect Goldilocks: big-agency resources to make important future bets and a small-shop culture un-allergic to change. I couldn’t be more excited to join the team,” noted Murphy.

Prior to Google Creative Lab, Dan spent time at BBDO as Group Executive Interactive Producer, managing AT&T’s digital work as well as securing NEXT Awards and a Cannes Cyber Lion for Lowe’s “Fix-in-Six” campaigns. He also worked at Eleven as Director of Interactive Production, notably adding a creative technology practice and working for clients like Apple, Visa, and Virgin America. In addition, he held integrated producer roles at Saatchi & Saatchi as well as CP+B, working on projects like Toyota’s 4Runner launch and Domino’s Pizza Tracker, respectively.
