Gatesman Welcomes Two Award-Winning, Marketing Professionals To Chicago Office

Emily Hamill Joins as SVP, Director of Connections Strategy, Sara Ahuja to Serve as VP, Group Account Director

PITTSBURGH – Sept. 7, 2017 – Gatesman, one of the fastest-growing, mid-sized privately owned marketing communications agencies, welcomes two seasoned marketing professionals to the Chicago office. Emily Hamill joins the agency as senior vice president, director of connections strategy and Sara Ahuja as vice president, group account director. Between them, Hamill and Ahuja have worked on brands such as Wendy’s, IBM, Hilton, General Motors, AT&T, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Northwell Health, TESSCO Wireless and Bosch North America.

Hamill, who has worked at Zimmerman, Tucker/Hall, Bailey Lauerman and most recently, Ketchum Atlanta as the director of digital strategy, brings to Gatesman a breadth of knowledge of the complex media landscape. Having worked with brands such as Wendy’s, IBM, Darden Brands, General Motors, Panda Express, Cuties, BP, Zespri, Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics, AutoTrader, Hilton, JP Morgan Chase, and Union Pacific among others, she is skilled at providing strategic counsel on how to blend traditional and emerging media with new technologies and trends in order to generate awareness, engagement and ultimately, advocacy. Hamill’s specialties include: Content strategy, influencer engagement, executive visibility, crisis and issues management, social media strategy, cross-channel integration strategy, measurement and analytics and team development.

In her new role as SVP, director of connections strategy, Hamill will work in lockstep with clients to develop measureable, effective and integrated marketing communications programs via connected experiences for brands based on consumer behavior and context.

Hamill graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in public relations and a master’s in international/intercultural communications.

Ahuja brings experience across the business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors with expertise in technology, health care, finance, retail and academics. Prior to her time at Gatesman, she spent time at GS&F, Brunner, Avenue Marketing and most recently, Fusion92. Several of the key accounts Sara managed includes AT&T, Tessco Technologies, Cars.com, Carrier Corp., MTD/Cub Cadet, and Bryant. In 2012, Ahuja also served as management supervisor at Gatesman’s Pittsburgh office where she worked on longstanding clients UPMC, Northwell Health and SHOP ‘n SAVE. Sara’s specialties include account planning, team management, digital (UI/UX & development), media (social, search, programmatic) and reporting and optimization.

As VP, group account director, Sara will lead the agency’s Healthcare and Higher Ed divisions which includes clients such as Rutgers, University of Michigan, University of Florida and Clemson. She will also help lead and provide oversight to Northwell Health and UPMC working with the team in Pittsburgh. Ahuja is a graduate of Gannon University where she earned her bachelor’s in Marketing.

Both Hamill and Ahuja will join Gatesman’s management and new business teams.
