4A's Webinar Series
A recent study revealed that companies in the top quartile for gender or racial and ethnic diversity are 35% more likely to have greater financial returns than the industry average. And yet, research also shows that despite our best intentions, individuals inadvertently allow their unconscious biases – or thoughts – to influence their actions and behaviors in ways that can exclude and stifle diversity.
MEC sought to tackle this issue head on. During Advertising Week 2016, they launched the Brave Your Bias movement with a simple test to uncover individual biases that suppress inclusion. Revealing these biases is just the first step. Successful organizations provide the tools to recognize bias and the impact it has on decisions that affect the long-term inclusiveness of their business.
Join Marie-Claire Barker, Chief Talent Officer at MEC, and Tanya Odom, global diversity strategist and practitioner, as they share lessons learned from the Brave Your Bias initiative; which has expanded to include a fully integrated approach to disrupting bias across all aspects of talent and organization wide engagement.
What You Will Learn:
- Lessons learned from the design and activation of The Brave Your Bias movement.
- The best way to engage leadership and/or peers about the need for bias training.
- How to prepare for and craft an unconscious bias training plan for your agency.
- How to operationalize interventions across the business to ensure that training is retained.
Who Should Attend:

- C-Suite leaders responsible for driving change in agencies
