The 4A’s Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS) program has trained some of the best and brightest industry professionals in the business. In fact, many of today’s top agency executives in the San Francisco Bay Area are IAAS graduates.
The 4A’s Northern California Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS) is the perfect vehicle for your next generation of advertising leaders to learn the ins and outs of the advertising industry. The program opens with overviews of marketing strategy, creativity and client expectations, and then follows the path of preparing for a new business pitch.
Topics covered include:
- Client Brief;
- Understanding the Consumer, Brand, and Competitive Landscape;
- Finding Insights and an Integrating Idea;
- Developing and Selling a Marketing Communication Strategy
- Planning the Latest Digital, Social, Mobile and Experiential Consumer Engagement Tools.
Best of all, students develop their skills by working on an actual client assignment in a team environment. The faculty, judges and mentors, recruited from leading agencies, are all seasoned veterans from their organizations.
The course runs on consecutive Thursday evenings, starting February 9, 2017 and ending on May 11, 2017. It culminates with individual “agency” presentations to representatives from the client (to be determined) in a quest to “win” the business. These presentations will be held on Wednesday evening, May 10 and Thursday evening, May 11, 2017. On Thursday evening, May 18, 2017, the students will be recognized and the winning team announced at a graduation celebration to be held a San Francisco location (TBD).
The majority of course sessions will take place at Golden Gate University, 536 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA. Golden Gate University has graciously hosted and supported the IAAS for several years. Select individual sessions will rotate through different San Francisco agencies so that students experience a range of environments.
Classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude no later than 9 p.m.

The Institute is designed for junior professionals with one to five years’ experience working in the San Francisco Bay area. The program is beneficial to all agency disciplines.
