Melanie Jones Named New Chief Financial Officer for Mindshare North America

Veteran CPA Moves Up to Top Post From Controller Role

mindshare logoMelanie Jones, a Certified Public Accountant with extensive and diverse experience in corporate and operational finance, today was named chief financial officer of Mindshare North America.

The appointment, effective immediately, was made by Scott Neslund, head of Mindshare North America, who said that Jones, who has served as Mindshare’s Controller since 2005, is uniquely qualified for her new post.

“The challenges faced by financial executives at major agencies are demanding in any economic climate, but right now they are particularly acute,” Neslund said. “I have every confidence that Melanie is up to the task at hand and I look forward to her insight and contributions.”

In her new role, Jones’s responsibilities will include partnering with the agency’s senior leadership team to establish and implement Mindshare’s financial strategies for the region as well as overseeing all corporate accounting and finance activities. She will also manage the agency’s annual budget and forecasts, and provide financial guidance on all business matters, among other responsibilities.

Before coming to Mindshare, Jones held progressively responsible roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Continental Airlines and Moody’s Investors Service.

She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she conducted numerous audits of media and entertainment companies and subsidiaries before joining Continental Airlines, where she worked for 15 years in a range of audit, international, corporate and operational finance roles. She later joined Moody’s Investors Service, where she served as Assistant Controller before joining Mindshare as Controller in 2005.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, where she served as President of Beta Alpha Psi. She is an avid racquetball player and sports fan.
