GroupM Shifts Top Investment Managers in Major Executive Realignment

groupmGroupM today announced a major realignment of top media investment executives at three of its agencies: Maxus, MEC and MediaCom.

The announcement was made by GroupM Chief Investment Officer Rino Scanzoni and calls for Christine Fuller, Managing Partner, Director of Implementation at MEC and John Miles, Managing Partner, Director of Investments for MediaCom to move into new leadership roles at GroupM agencies.

Under the management shift, Fuller becomes Managing Director, Media Investments, at MediaCom, while Miles moves to sister agency Maxus, where he becomes Managing Director, Media Investments, a new position for the agency.

At MEC, Fuller was responsible for overseeing all media investments initiatives for client AT&T. At MediaCom, she will oversee all media buying operations for the agency’s client roster.

At MediaCom, Miles oversaw the total integration of the agency’s investment strategy across all media channels, collaborating closely with GroupM’s diversified media practices. At Maxus he will fill the same role at a new unit dedicated to media buying.

“These moves allow us to provide new opportunities for two of the strongest and most experienced members of our team,” Scanzoni said in making the announcement. “Christine will now oversee an entire investment operation and John will break new ground by significantly strengthening the buying operation at Maxus.”

Fuller has more than two decades experience as a media buyer. In 1989 she joined the media department at NW Ayer, which later became Media Edge, the precursor to Mediaedge:cia, now known as MEC. Over the past two decades she has played an integral role in winning new business for the agency, including AT&T and its predecessor account, Cingular. She has also managed media investment assets for Campbell’s, Mattel, Toys R Us and Met Life throughout her career. Earlier this year she was named by Advertising Age as one of five media agency executives the magazine labeled “The New Generation of Power Players in the TV-Buying World.”

Miles joined MediaCom in 2006, bringing 25 years of experience on global brands including General Motors, IBM, Procter & Gamble, MasterCard and Sara Lee, among others. His background includes more than ten years at IPG’s dedicated media unit, GM Mediaworks, where he departed as the acting President. Prior to joining GM Mediaworks at its inception in 1994, John held media positions with Lintas, DMB&B and NW Ayer.
